Our Winemakers
The O’Hara’s
Family owned and managed
Peerick is a family business owned and operated by Michael and Felicity O’Hara and their children Megan and Luke. Originally established and planted by the Jessup family in the 1990’s, the business was acquired by the O’Hara’s in 2018.
Michael O’Hara has had a long career in Agribusiness stretching back to the early 1980’s. Following this up with a Marketing degree from Monash allowed him to capitalise on sales and marketing positions in Ag Chem with Bayer. This was followed by the establishment of businesses in the pet industry and in liquor distribution. More recently he has acted as GM for Strathbogie Ranges wine producer, Baddaginnie Run. While at the end of his working career, he still has had the passion and motivation to re-establish the Peerick brand, ramping up production and introducing new varieties and technological practices to the Pyrenees region.
Felicity O’Hara grew up milking cows with her seven siblings on the family dairy in West Gippsland. Tertiary qualifications and work experience have enabled her to maintain a long and varied career in nursing. Despite this she held a strong connection to the land.
Together with their children Megan and Luke, who are also working in the wine industry and completing qualifications of their own, with the purchase of Peerick vineyard, they are committed to producing sustainably grown, minimal intervention wines of exceptional quality.
We are committed to sustainability and biodiversity, working in harmony to product a distinctive range of award-winning wines
